The idea for Napoleon Dynamite was conceived when Jared Hess (director) lived in Preston, Idaho with his wife Jerusha Hess (writer). While living there he saw a kid dressed like Napoleon Dynamite at Fred Meyer (a local grocery store). The movie takes place in Preston, Idaho where both Jared and Jerusha grew up.
4. Dumb and Dumber
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels starred in this 1994 comedy about the most dim-witted duo you’ll ever see. The two main characters, Lloyd Christmas (played by Carrey) and Harry Dunne (played by Daniels), accidentally steal a briefcase from Mary Swanson during a trip to Aspen, Colorado.
The briefcase belongs to her boyfriend and contains $50,000 he owes his ex-wife’s lawyer. In order to get back the money, Lloyd and Harry must travel across the country on foot because they can’t afford to pay for a bus ticket or rental car.
